LOVE

Love

Lady Montague/Lord Montague:

“Where is Romeo, he was sad and crying. My depressed son runs away from the light and comes home, and locks himself in his room and locks out the daylight. He is an advisor to his own affections, keeps it all to himself. I think that he needs some advice or someone to talk to. He won’t tell me so Benvolio can go talk to him. I don’t know why he is sad but the Capulets better not be a part of this. I don’t think it is something irrelevant like love, why would you cry about love when you have your family to love you. I wish I could hear his confession but I have to leave, come madam, let’s leave. I think that Romeo should care more about our reputation more then who he loves, because if he loves a capulet, it will ruin our reputation.

We don't want Romeo to be in love with a capulet, they are our enemies. There are many girls here he could love just like me and lady Montague. Our relationship didn't ruin our reputation because we aren't enemies. It would be better if we decide who Romeo would marry.
I don't want Romeo to commit any mistakes with his life but I don't think he will listen to us, he would just ignore us. I think it would be better if someone his own age will tell him what his mistakes are.

  6. Good job on mentioning that if it has to do with a Capulet that it will ruin their reputation. I agree with Margarita that you portrayed the part of worried parents really well. And I also like the line where you said " I don’t think it is something irrelevant like love, why would you cry about love when you have your family to love you." Overall I really liked your post!

  7. Great start. If you are putting yourself in their shoes… how do they "love" him? What does that look like? Should parents let kids do what they want and make their own mistakes? Or should they control and direct their kids to make choices that are best according to parents? What is the love between them like? Do Lord and Lady Montague love each other? What does that look like? How is it different from what they see Romeo doing?
